IAD FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION

In 1995 George White of Ames led a group of dealers to establish the IAD Foundation for Education.  George encouraged dealers to be more charitable and to give back to the industry and their communities.  His efforts helped to establish this Foundation.

Our Vision

The IAD Foundation for Education promotes career opportunities in the automobile and truck sales and service industry in Iowa.

Our Mission

We invest in the future of the motor vehicle sales and service industry by awarding automotive scholarships.  We also develop programs and incentives with high schools, colleges, educational agencies, and the public to encourage automotive careers.

SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

The IAD Foundation will award scholarships of $2,000 each in the spring of 2012.  Applicants must be committed to pursuing automotive-related studies at a two or four-year post-secondary institution, and must demonstrate satisfactory performance in those studies. Click here for the 2012 scholarship application.  Applications are due at IADA Headquarters by 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012.

SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

The young adults who have received a scholarship come from all over Iowa.  Most attend an Iowa community college.  Many scholarship winners study to become automotive technicians, while some students have studied collision repair, and others have pursued diesel training.  Click here for the current scholarship winners.

Our five endowed scholarships are given to a student with an interest in pursuing a career in the automotive industry.  Other requirements are indicated below:

The Michael T. Clemons Scholarship is awarded in part on academic excellence and financial need
The Pat and Carol Clemons Scholarship is awarded to a resident of one of the following counties:  Boone, Greene, Hamilton, Marshall, Story or Webster.
The Jim Holdiman Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a resident of one of the following counties:  Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Clayton, Dubuque, Fayette, Grundy or Jones.  The recipient must also attend Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa.
The M. O. Kahn Scholarship is awarded to a resident of one of the following counties: Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Story or Warren.
The Stan and Marleen Moffitt Scholarship is awarded, in part, on financial need.
The Lou and Marianne Walsh Scholarship is awarded to a graduate of one of the following schools:  Carroll Community, Kuemper Catholic School, Glidden Community School, Manning Community School or Coon Rapids Community School.
The George White Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates a strong commitment to the auto industry.  It is given in honor of the late George White of Ames.  This scholarship is funded by money donated by IADA Services, Inc. to honor George White's drive to establish this Foundation.

HOW TO INVEST

Your investment will help guarantee a continuing supply of high-quality students pursuing automotive technologies.  All investments will go toward scholarships -- not administrative expenses.  Dealers who serve on the Foundation's Board of Directors govern the finances of the Foundation and a respected investment management firm professionally manages the Foundation's assets.

The IAD Foundation for Education is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  All contributions are tax-deductible.  Consult with your tax advisor for more details.

We have several donation options including: corporate or personal checks, appreciated stock, payment plans, and estate planning.

Here are some alternatives:
